RICHMOND — A fund has been established at area Patriots Bank locations to help the Schendel family with medical and funeral expenses from Monday’s fatal fire in Richmond. Checks may be made to the Best Family Fund – named after surviving daughter Alexis Best — and questions directed to Central Heights Middle School principal Bud Welch, said Sharon Akes, who helped conduct Monday night’s candlelight vigil in Richmond for the family.
