PAOLA — The assistant principal and activities director at Paola High School has been named assistant executive director of the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Mark Lentz, who will start July 1, will have duties that will include the administration of football, wrestling and track and field. He will succeed Rick Bowden, who is retiring from the KSHSAA staff after 18 years. Lentz was selected in a national search from a field of 60 candidates. Lentz has been assistant principal at Paola for the past 12 years. Previously, he was Jayhawk-Linn Junior-Senior High School principal for three years and coached football, wrestling and track and field in Missouri.
