OLATHE — It was fast and furious on I-35 Tuesday night near I-35 and I-435 in Olathe. The driver’s prize – a fast trip to the Overland Park Medical Center. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Jose Valenzuela, 26, Kansas City, Kan.; was driving a Honda Civic and Samuel Streeb, 35, Edgerton, was driving a Chevy Malibu were going south in I-35 at high rates of speed. Troopers said Valenzuela was racing along the left shoulder passing cars and tried to move into the left-hand lane just as Streeb was moving from the center lane to the left lane. The cars hit and Valenzuela’s car spun, hit the barrier wall and turned over, blocking the road. Streeb wasn’t injured.
