WASHINGTON — High price of gas got you feeling low? Critics have harshly ripped federal and state subsidies to the ethanol industry and that’s increasing the cost of gasoline. However, a new study by Iowa State University says that ethanol is actually holding down the cost of gasoline at the pumps. The study didn’t include the economic benefits to grain farmers and employees at ethanol plants, he said.
