OTTAWA–Schuff Steel Company had planned to build a new facility along with its 300 new jobs so it can build towers for wind generators. But not so fast. At a Friday Forum at Washburn Towers, Dennis Randall, the Executive Vice-President and General Manager for the Midwest Division of Schuff Steel, said that General Electric has bought the assets to Wind Tower Systems….and that means the planned expansion is on hold…at least until a deal can be worked out with GE. Friday Forum is sponsored by Ottawa Main Street, Arvest Bank, The Ottawa Herald and the City of Ottawa.
