GARNETT — This summer’s annual Liberty Festival fireworks display could go up in smoke. Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce official Helen Norman told the Anderson County Review that the July 4 fireworks gala has seen fewer financial donations over the years. The chamber has lost money on it over the last several years, she said. The fireworks display costs $3,000 to $3,500 each year. One option is to hold Liberty Fest on the weekend before Independence Day so it doesn’t conflict with family gatherings, she said.
