MANHATTAN – The Pilot Club of Manhattan will host its 6th annual Autism Spectrum Disorders Workshop June 4, at the K-State Student Union. The workshop is for parents, caregivers and educators of children on the autism spectrum. This year’s conference features keynote speaker Susan Hollar who will speak in-depth about relationship development intervention. Hollar will speak for two hours in the morning to parents and professionals and will hold breakout sessions in the afternoon covering information specific to each of those groups. Other topics covered in breakout sessions will include: An introduction to autism spectrum disorders; sensory processing in autism spectrum disorders; diagnosis and management of ASD; interventions for children and teens with high functioning autism and Asperger’s disorder; and planning for the transition from school to adult life.
