GARNETT–There’s going to be a disaster in Garnett…but don’t worry. It’s only a drill. Come Monday night, the Anderson County Emergency Department will conduct a drill simulating a spill of Anhydrous Ammonia. Emergency Director Marvin Grimes says it will happen at Beachner Grain, and homeowners in the area will be notified that they need to evacuate. Those people have of course already been notified this will all go down. Grimes says some high school drama students will pretend to be victims. He says the drill is to learn how to handle a large number of victims needing hospital care.
