CENTRAL HEIGHTS – Ottawa wasn’t the only high school holding commencement exercises this weekend. At Central Heights, Marissa Cox, who was named valedictorian, said what students want to do with their lives is much different when they started school than when they’re ending it. Now it’s time for them to figure themselves out, she said. As she borrowed from Dr. Suess: “Today is done, today is fun and tomorrow is another one.” Besides receiving their diplomas, Anderson County High School seniors received a few awards Sunday afternoon. The Kansas Citizenship awards went to Paige Rockers and Evan Bennett and a perfect attendance award went to Hannah Snedecor, who had perfect attendance through high and middle schools. More area schools will have commencements next weekend.
