OTTAWA — The Ottawa police and fire departments are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a car and caused some damage to a house late Sunday night in the 900 block of North Poplar. The fire destroyed the car and scorched a house it was parked beside, said assistant Ottawa fire chief Richard Oglesby. The fire from the car also reached up and damaged the overhang that the car was parked under. Little is known now about the circumstances or who even owned the car, he said. However, Oglesby said the fire was likely of man-made origin.
