OSAWATOMIE — A 28-year-old Osawatomie man was killed and his passenger was severely injured in a motorcycle accident near Osawatomie shortly at about 6 p.m. Monday. A motorcycle driven by Dustin Eakes crashed at Old Kansas City Road and West 355th Street just south of Osawatomie, the Miami County Sheriff’s office said. Eakes and his female passenger were thrown from the bike. Eakes was flown by helicopter to a Kansas City area hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman was taken by ambulance to another Kansas City area hospital. The sheriff’s office said the woman, who wasn’t identified, is listed in critical condition.
