LAWRENCE — A 37-year-old Ottawa man has been identified as the driver who was killed early Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 59 near Pleasant Grove hill south of Lawrence. Terry Star was going north on U.S. 59 when his car left the road and hit an embankment to a driveway, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Star’s car went airborne and overturned at least once before coming to rest on its wheels in a field, troopers said. Troopers said they don’t know when the accident happened. An autopsy is being done by the Shawnee County coroner’s office.
