OTTAWA — A house fire in the 900 block of South Ash caused about $50,000 in damage Friday night. Ottawa Assistant Fire Chief Richard Oglesby said the cause was accidental. Someone was doing some metal work in the garage and sparks being put off ignited some combustibles, he said. The fire caught the garage on fire and got through the main wall of the house and into the living area. The fire traveled above the ceiling, he said. There were no injuries.
