GARNETT — A Garnett woman said someone tried to snatch her six-year-old daughter from the front porch of her family’s house in the 100 block of East Second Street in Garnett last week. Beth Moss told the Anderson County Review that her daughter yelled and ran into the house. The man ran away. She describes the man as a black man wearing shorts and tennis shoes and introducing himself “CJ.” Police Chief Kevin PeKarek said a city employee spotted a man matching the description running south on the Prairie Spirit Trail later that day. The case remains under investigation. Moss said her daughter now has trouble sleeping and refuses to go outside.
