OTTAWA — The third annual Franklin County memorial service honoring fallen law enforcement officers will be tonight from 6 to 6:40 at the First Assembly of God Church, 520 E. 13th St. The event is hosted by the Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County Sheriff’s office in connection with National Peace Officers Memorial Week. Police Chief Dennis Butler said the ceremony will honor Deputy Samuel Smith and Ottawa Police Capt. Robert Cowdin. There will be a BBQ supper hosted by the church following the service. Child care will be available. Overflow parking at Garfield Elementary School.
