LOUISBURG — When a tornado touched down near Louisburg Wednesday morning, Dan Goff was driving along U.S. 69 in his pick-up truck on his way to pick up his daughter. Instead, he and his pickup were picked up by the tornado. The tornado spun the truck around before dropping the truck on its side. He said it happened so fast he didn’t have time to be frightened. “It was like being inside a tin can getting squeezed,” he said. He crawled out of the passenger window and was assisted by a police officer that saw him get sucked up by the twister. He wasn’t injured.
