OTTAWA- Ottawa will have an opportunity to fight hunger on a global scale this fall. In honor of World Hunger Day in Cctober, Eckan, in partnership with Numana, is looking to raise $45000 to package 150,000 meals to be sent to countries where hunger is intense. Ottawa Eckan Volunteer Center Director Lisa Rivers says that the number of volunteers will help the program to run more smoothly. The success of the event is dependent upon champions, who serve as fundraising sponsors, especially within the local churches.
