OTTAWA- Free soil testing for Franklin County landowners will cease next week. Budget cuts have put this program in limbo for the time being and has forced it to come to a halt. Franklin County Agriculture Agent Darren Hibden warns that the free testing deadline is near and that last minute tests need to be submitted by Wednesday. After Wednesday soil testing will cost eight dollars.
