OSAGE CITY — Osage City won the state title in 3A softball win a 4-1 win over Frontenac this weekend. The Lady Indians also dropped Larned 6-1 in the semifinals. Wellsville came in fourth at the 3A state tournament for baseball. The Eagles lost to Thomas More Prep in the semifinals and lost to Frontenac 2-1 in a pitcher’s duel in eight innings. Paola came in third at the 4-a state softball tournament. The Lady Panthers beat Girard 11-1 for third. They lost to Andale/Garden Plain, the eventual state champ, in the semifinals. Spring Hill came in second in the 4-A state baseball tournament. Saint James Academy beat the Broncos 9-3 in the championship game.
