OTTAWA — Two community groups are looking for volunteers. The Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will host a volunteer orientation meeting next Monday night at 7 at the new shelter facility, 3173 K-68. The shelter asks that a volunteer be willing to commit to two hours a week to play with and care for the dogs and cats, work phones and special events, handle adoptions and housekeeping for the building. ECKAN needs volunteers for the Summer Lunch Program, which provides free lunches to children age 1-18. Volunteer will set up tables and chairs, serve meals, monitor attendance, and clean up.
