OTTAWA — The second man involved in the stabbing death of an Ottawa man will do about four years in prison. Brandon Ellsmore, 24, Ottawa, has been sentenced in Franklin County District Court for reckless aggravated battery in last year’s death of Paul Nicholson during a drunken party. Originally charged with second-degree murder, Ellsmore pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and testified against John Balbirnie, 45, Ottawa. Balbirnie was convicted by a jury and sentenced to 23 years in prison earlier this year.
