OTTAWA — During a budget session Monday, Ottawa city commissioners looked at special fund budgets. Special funds include community service, special road, airport and Ottawa Municipal Auditorium, city manager Richard Nienstedt said. Those are funds that aren’t directly related to utilities or normal functions of city government, he said. That can include contributions to the Veterans Day celebration, Ottawa/Franklin County Economic Development or the auditorium. Most special funds that receive money from the city will get the same amount next year as this year. Those special funds that have other sources of revenue, such as the auditorium, special road fund, and airport, will see small increases in their budgets.
