LAWRENCE — Although the Douglas County Sheriff’s office has identified the driver of a truck involved in last week’s freak accident that killed a Lyndon woman, the department is asking for more help finding a witness. Sgt. Steve Lewis said detectives are looking for the driver of a car that who may have seen the accident on K-10 that killed Cindy Burnett, 47, on May 31. Detectives believe the car, possibly maroon in color, was traveling east on K-10 at the time of the accident, shortly after noon, Lewis said. That car may have also been struck by the metal object that fell from the truck trailer and killed Burnett. Nicholas Rockhold, 20, Baldwin City, was identified as the driver of the truck pulling the trailer with the metal scrap.
