PAOLA — Penny Evans has resigned as Miami County engineer. The Miami County Republic reported that as she announced her resignation, Evans said county officials gave her the choice of resigning or being forced out. She said county officials had differences with her. Miami County administrator Shane Krull told the Republic that her resignation shouldn’t delay any projects because consulting engineers are working on them. The county will look for a replacement, he said. Evans has been the county’s engineer for 14 years.
