OTTAWA — 4-Hers planted a vegetation swale along the Prairie Spirit Trail near the fairgrounds Tuesday. City management analyst Casey Sharp says the work was part of a water-quality project funded by a grant from the Lake Region Resource Conservation and Development Council. The swale is designed to stop erosion in Freedom Park in southern Ottawa, she said. Five more trees will be planted around the swale. The grant project will include planting 25 more trees in city parks and building seven pet waste stations in city parks.
