WICHITA — A Texas man was sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for an illegal interstate hunting operation in western Kansas. James Bobby Butler, Jr., 42, Martinsville, Texas; and his brother Marlin Butler offered guided deer hunts from a camp for out-of-state hunters near Coldwater. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said the Butlers guaranteed trophy deer and ignored hunting laws in doing so. They also illegally transferred trophies across state lines, he said. Marlin Butler has also been convicted and will be sentenced later this week.
