OSAWATOMIE — A recent house fire near Osawatomie is under investigation. A member of the Osawatomie Volunteer Fire Department rented the home, which was destroyed by the fire. Osawatomie Fire Chief Duwayne Tewes told the Osawatomie Journal that he requested that the state fire marshal pinpoint the cause of the fire because the amount of damage and because a member of his department lived at the house. However, he said there’s nothing suspicious about the fire.
