LaCYGNE — The Linn County Sheriff’s Department seized more than 1,100 marijuana plants hidden in nine fields north of LaCygne Monday. The Linn County News reported that the fields were discovered by a hunter last fall. Sheriff Barry Walker had officers watch the fields in hopes of catching the people taking care of the plants. However, it appears that workers had abandoned the sites. He said the operation was run by Mexican nationals who lived at the sites. The operation appeared similar to one busted in Osage County recently, he said. Three Mexicans living at the Osage County field were arrested.
