OTTAWA — A 40-year-old Ottawa woman has been jailed in connection with the March accident that killed 4-year-old Alex Russle Bowles-Gregg. Tammy Lynn Payne was booked into the jail Tuesday afternoon for two counts of child endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol (second offense), driving while license suspended and transporting an open container of alcohol, Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said. She is being held on a $2,500 bond. The boy died March 12 as a result of an accident in which a driverless vehicle rolled down the driveway at 1040 S. Cottonwood St. and struck him. The incident happened moments after the vehicle returned home and had been parked. He was rushed to Ransom Memorial Hospital where he later died.
