RICHMOND — The 87th annual Richmond Free Fair begins Thursday morning at the Richmond fairgrounds with entries for 4-H and open classes. Sarah Peters, fair board president, said the fair is an important community event that keeps kids in mind, with games each afternoon and evening and musical entertainment in the evenings. The parade will be Saturday evening at 6. The parade grand marshal is long-time fair official Sister Loretta Roeckers. The Roeckers family has been involved in the Richmond fair since it started, Peters said.
