PRINCETON – Two injury accidents occurred during the Independence Day weekend at the intersection of U.S. 59 and John Brown Road in Princeton. A 63-year-old Bronson motorcyclist was taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning. Albert Imel, Jr., 58, Princeton; was driving a pickup north on U.S. 59 and tried to turn left on onto John Brown Road and failed to yield to Robert Ingle who was riding south on U.S. 59, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Troopers said Ingle laid his bike down and hit the front of the pickup. He was wearing a helmet. A 16-year-old Shawnee teen was taken to Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, following Monday afternoon’s crash. Jordan Yearsley, 16, Shawnee, and Roy Day, 63, Princeton, were driving south on U.S. 59 when Yearsley tried to turn right onto John Brown Road, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. However, troopers said Day tried to pass Yearsley on the right on the shoulder when Day’s pickup hit his car hit in the side. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch. One of the passengers in Yearsley’s car, Mackenly Bruce, 16, Shawnee, was injured and taken to RMH.
