GARNETT — The Anderson County Review reported that the president’s gavel was passed from one banker to another on the Anderson County USD 365 school board. Dwight Nelson, who is senior vice president of Garnett State Savings Bank, was elected as board president. Nelson has been on the school board since 2009. He succeeds Pat Rockers, who is with the Bank of Greeley. Deanna Wolken was selected as vice president. During the reorganizational meeting last week, board members welcomed new board member Gaylene Comfort of Westphalia and handled of a number of housekeeping items for the coming school year. That includes approval of the school calendar, re-adopting board policies, and naming the district’s attorney and official newspapers, which are the Review and the Anderson County Advocate.
