OTTAWA — Ottawa schools will a little more than 215 kindergartners next year.
School Supt. Dean Katt said because many of the families attended roundup at Lincoln School, there may have to be some shuffling of the youngsters among the district’s schools. Letters will be sent to parents, he said. Because of state school funding cuts, the district will have to increase the size of kindergarten classes to about 21 to 22 students per classroom, he said. That is more than the usual ratio but the district has few options, he said.
