RANTOUL — The Franklin County Sheriff’s office received a report from a 34-year-old Rantoul man about a burglary occurring the in 4500 block of John Brown Drive south of Rantoul Tuesday night. Items stolen included Connecticut Valley Arms .50-calibre muzzle loader rifle, a Weatherby Centurion 12-gauge shotgun, German Mauser rifle with bayonet, a Ruger single-six .22-calibre pistol with 7-inch barrel, a Browning A-bolt Medallion rifle with scope, a Colt AR-15 rifle with 20-inch barrel, a matched set of black powder gold-plated 1850’s derringers, 2 Nazi dress swords with brass handles that have lion’s heads with ruby eyes, a British WWII commando knife with shortened blade and sheath, a black and yellow Homelite 5000 watt generator, a John Deere CS36 chainsaw, a Craftsman laser-light mitre saw with stand, a red Black & Decker jigsaw with pivot head and other power tools, wrench sets and fishing equipment. The loss was estimated at approximately $10,000.
