GARNETT- What happens when the state cuts school funding? School districts have to pull money from somewhere, and the local patron’s pockets are a viable option. USD 365 could lose as much as $500,000 in the next two years because of budget cuts made by the Kansas Legislature. Though the school district has found ways to save money in its administration, Superintendent Don Blume said an increased mill levy is likely. What kind of increase is unknown, and further discussion of USD 365’s budget will take place Monday evening at 7:30.
