BEAVER LAKE, Ark. — A Baker University student drowned in a weekend boating incident at Beaver Lake in northwestern Arkansas this weekend. Baker president Patricia Long said the body of Tyler Jeck, 19, Pittsburg, was recovered Tuesday night. Officials said he jumped from a boat and didn’t resurface. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tyler Jeck’s family, his friends and his extended family at Baker University,” Long said. “Tyler had demonstrated great promise on the Baldwin City campus as a freshman.” As a freshman, he was on the dean’s list both semesters and played on the Wildcat baseball team.
