WICHITA — Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback’s budget chief says he’ll continue pushing to reduce or get rid of state incomes taxes. The Wichita Eagle reported that budget director Steve Anderson praised efforts by conservative Republican legislators to phase out income taxes. The bill failed. It would have gradually eliminated personal income taxes but would have increased property and sales taxes. Anderson said his office is working on a similar bill for next session.
