PAOLA — The Kansas Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of a fire two weeks ago in the 400 block of West Piankishaw Street in Paola. The fire was stopped in the house’s basement but there was smoke damage to the house. The Miami County Republic reported that the Paola Fire Department requested the investigation because the same home caught fire last summer.
