OTTAWA — The word is quiet. Builders and volunteers will be installing triple-pane windows and special sound-deadening drywall and insulation at the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” work site southwest of Ottawa today. The popular ABC TV show, which builds houses in one week, is building the house for the Allan and Gina Hill family. Allan Hill received a brain injury as a result of a roadside bomb in Iraq and has been troubled by loud noises since. He has recently been living at a VA facility in California because the Hills’ present home in northern Ottawa is next to a rock quarry that uses explosives and next to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe mainline.
