OTTAWA — Tickets are on sale Thursday night’s “Extreme Makeover BBQ Throwdown” at Forest Park. The Kansas City Barbeque Society is bringing eight of the top 10 pitmasters and crews to the event, said Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce president Tom Weigand. The cast of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will judge the contest at 6:30. The barbeque will be served to the public at 7. The winning Extreme Barbeque Team will be announced at 8. Tickets are $10. Tickets are $5 for children under 12. The proceeds go to the expenses of the building project and to the Allen and Gina Hill family. Music will be performed by Lipriddle.
