BIG LAKE, Mo. — Divers are searching holes scoured out by floodwaters in the Missouri River for a missing Missouri highway patrol trooper who was swept away Monday. The Kansas City Star reported that a small dam is being built near Big Lake, Mo., to change the current to make it easier for the underwater search for the body of trooper Frederick Guthrie, Jr. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a fund has been established for Guthrie’s family. The Guthrie Family Ffund has been established at the Bank of Weston, P.O. Box 8, Weston, Mo., 64098.
