CARBONDALE — A long-time member of the Kansas National Guard has been named by Gov. Sam Brownback to the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs. John Ryan, Carbondale, is a sergeant major in the Kansas Guard who has served for 38 years. The commissoin helps veterans and families receive benefits from the federal and state government and provides other information and services.
