LOUISBURG–The Louisburg School District has decided to accept students from out of state. The board decided to allow outside students because extra students would bring in additional state aid. The board decided that students will be allowed to apply for a transfer if the family intends to move into the district and pays either income or property tax in Kansas. Enrollment will be based on available space in classrooms. District Superintendent Sharon Zoellner said the decision on which student to admit could be a gamble. Just because there’s room in 3rd grade doesn’t mean there’s room for his brother in 4th grade.
