BALDWIN CITY — It turned out to be much ado about nothing. Douglas County and Franklin County deputies spent part of the morning looking for an accident victim in southern Douglas County. A driver alerted the Douglas County emergency dispatch about a vehicle in a ditch near Baldwin City, Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Bunting said. The driver talked to the driver of vehicle in the ditch but misunderstood and thought she was injured, he said. When officers got to the scene the driver in the ditch had disappeared. However, when officers located her, they found the driver wasn’t injured and other than being in the ditch, the vehicle wasn’t damaged, Bunting said.
