EMPORIA — The Emporia Fire Department and Emporia Police Department are investigating a fatal fire Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters found the body while battling a blaze at a mobile home. The department hasn’t given any details on the age, gender and name of the person. Emporia authorities said it appears the fire was caused by an overloaded electrical circuit. It wasn’t immediately known if the fire caused the person’s death.
