TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment said that Kansas State University veterinary lab has confirmed that toxic blue-green killed one dog. The KDHE said the algae at Milford Lake probably two other dogs. People and their pets should avoid contact with water where harmful algae blooms are present, the KDHE said. In the area, the KDHE has issued a blue-green algae advisory for Hillsdale Lake in Miami County.
