TOPEKA — A former Washburn University football star has pleaded guilty to bank robbery. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Vershon Moore, 21, pleaded guilty to robbing two Envista Credit Union employees at gunpoint as they tried to refill a drive-thru ATM machine two weeks ago. One of the women filling the ATM was his accomplice, Grissom said. The former employee, Tracie Bacon, 21, Topeka; is accused of giving Moore information about the schedule for putting cash in the ATM and she had texted him shortly before the robbery. His sentencing is Nov. 21. Bacon is awaiting trial.
