WHITING — The former postmaster of the Whiting post office has been indicted on charges of embezzling government funds. Terri Morris, 49, Holton, is charged with two counts of making a false writing and one count of embezzling public funds while she was postmaster for the small Jackson County town of 200, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. The indictment alleges the crimes took place over a two-year period. Last year, Postal Service investigators made an unannounced visit to the Whiting Post Office and conducted an audit that showed a shortage of more than $7,000.
