LYNDON- After a two week trial, the jury in the James Kahler capital murder case took two hours and fifteen minutes to reach a verdict: guilty. Kahler is charged with shooting and killing his wife Karen Kahler, their two teenage daughters, and Karen’s grandmother Dorothy Wight. They were killed over Thanksgiving weekend in 2009. The Topeka Capital Journal reports that the jury will return to the Osage County court room on Monday morning for the penalty phase of the trial.
