OLATHE — The Johnson County Health Department has urged that all public swimming pools be closed for the rest of the summer because of swimmers with the contagious intestinal parasite cryptosporidiosis. The county environmental department says that the parasite was found in 11 county pools and has received more than 30 reports of cryptosporidium in recent weeks. Some pool managers have said they may clean their pools and super-chlorinate the water and reopen.
